Reflection: We always want to be efficient in our journeys of life and reach our destinations without wasting time and other resources. Before we start the journey, we make plans on how to do that journey well. We collect useful information and make sure that we have our GPS or maps to guide us. We just want to get there at best. Jesus tells us today, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  We want to get to the Father. We want to get to heaven after the end of our worldly life. Jesus offers himself to accompany us on the journey. He knows the destination and He knows how to get there. That is why he tells us: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; Have faith also in me.” As they were faced with challenges of distribution of food to widows in their faith community, the Twelve turned to God for solution by selecting seven reputable men, filled with the Spirit and wisdom. Today and always we honor our mothers who have carried us from that moment of conception and guided and accompanied us to journey in our earthly life. They have shared their life with us always. We have always turned to them, “mamaaaa!” for guidance. Happy Mother’s Day. Let’s remember that we are Easter people and our song is Alleluia! Fr. Severine
